The Surgery
After the pre-surgery consultation and implementation plans has been completed we will begin the surgery at the following appointment. The first part of the surgery begins with local anesthesia that makes the procedure as comfortable and painless as possible. A small structure that is made of titanium is placed into the bone where the missing tooth is and where the implant will eventually be placed. The jawbone will then heal and grow around the inserted piece, anchoring it securely. The healing process typically takes 6-12 weeks.
On the next visit, the specialist will then attached an abutment to the titanium structure to hold the implant. When the impressions and models of your teeth are made, the new implant will be made from those models and then placed onto the abutment.
The dentist will make sure that the new implant matches the color of your existing teeth. Once placed, the implant will look, feel, and function just like your regular teeth.
There are many benefits associated with dental implants including:
Aesthetically pleasing appearance. Dental implants are matched to your existing teeth to ensure for a natural looking appearance.
Clear Speech. Sometimes dentures that move around in the mouth can cause slur of words. With an implant this will not be a concern since they are permanently situated.
Oral Health. All other teeth around and in the mouth are not impacted by the new implant. New implants do not alter any of the existing teeth which will lead to better long-term oral hygiene.
Durability. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.
Mini Implants
Mini Implants are a good alternative from traditional dental implants if an implant is needed in a tight, narrow area. A titanium post surgically inserted into the jawbone and connects to a denture to minimize its movement during function (chewing). Mini implants are good for small teeth, front teeth, and pre-molars. Our mini implants are used to replace missing teeth and help maintain oral health.
Implant Dentures "All In 4"
The term All-on-4, also known as All-on-Four and All-in-Four, refers to ‘all’ teeth being supported ‘on four’ dental implants, a prosthodontics procedure for total rehabilitation of the edentulous patient, or for patients with badly broken down teeth, decayed teeth, or compromised teeth due to gum disease.
